Real-Life Mulan Liu Yifei’s Net Worth

Liu Yifei's Net Worth

Disney’s live-action films have put a number of stars on the map. One of the company’s latest productions was that of Mulan starring the “Fairy Sister” of Hollywood, Liu Yifei. Though Yifei has been around for some time, this is one of her biggest roles yet. So, what does all of this mean for Liu Yifei’s net worth?

About Liu Yifei

Although Yifei looks young, she was actually born in 1987 in Wuhan, Hebei, under the name An Feng. She was an only child to An Shaokang and Liu Xiaoli. Her father was a first Secretary in the Chinese Embassy in France and also taught French at a university. Yifei’s mother, on the other hand, was  a dancer and performer.

At the age of 10, her parents split up and Yifei was raised by her mother. That year she also made the decision to change her name to match her mother’s maiden name (Liu Ximeiz). She then began modeling and training in musical arts. Yifei and her mother eventually moved to Queens, where she attended middle school before they returned to China in 2002.

After returning to China, Yifei was accepted into the Performance Institute of Beijing Film Academy where she graduated from in 2006. However, landing a spot in the school was enough to help her career take off.

Yifei’s Career

As soon as she was accepted into the Performance Institute, Yifei began receiving job offers. She made her very first television appearance on a show called The Story of a Noble Family in 2003. Her role in the TV series earned her her nickname of Fairy Sister by the media and her fans.

In 2005, she played a leading role in the film The Legend of the Sword and Fairy, which eventually earned a cult following. This solidified her popularity in China. During her time at the Performance Institute, she went on to act in several other TV programs.

After graduating, Yifei set her focus on the big screen. In 2007, she joined William Morris Agency and was cast in her first Hollywood production: The Forbidden Kingdom. There was no slowing her down after that.

Since then, she has played countless roles both on TV and on film, earning her the Best Actress award at the 5th Macau International Movie Festival. And, eventually, it also helped her land one of the biggest roles of her career as Mulan.

But what has all of this done for Liu Yifei’s net worth?

Liu Yifei’s Net Worth: $10 Million

Liu Yifei's Net WorthIt is estimated that Yifei’s net worth sits around $10 million. While all of her personal net worth stems from her work as an actress and model, her family is also one of the richest in China.

The 23rd richest, to be exact. Her father is one of the richest men in China and is worth $10 trillion won. So, she was likely never in any danger of being hard-up for cash, but none of her personal wealth stems from her dad’s net worth. So, where does it come from?

Work and Endorsements

Obviously, a bulk of Yifei’s overall net worth comes from her work as a model and actress. Some of her films have done extraordinarily well. When Mulan is released this summer, there is no doubt it will be her most successful appearance on the big screen to date.

Of course, that isn’t the only thing helping to line Yifei’s pockets. Like many other actors and actresses, she also works with companies for endorsement deals. Just earlier this year, Adidas nabbed the actress as a celebrity endorser. As a model, she has also been asked to sport certain labels and brands at certain times. The exact amount she makes with each deal is unknown though.

Currently, Yifei is not married and has no additional assets to add to her $10 million net worth. It is safe to say that we are far from being done seeing her on the big screen though. In fact, her career (and her wealth) are just getting started.
