Last week was Valentine’s Day and that had me thinking about the invention of the term “power couple.” These tend to be people who we see working together and making their dreams come true as a result, right? For many, this also has a financial component, meaning you don’t get to be deemed a “power couple” if you aren’t also rich. All of this led to me wondering, who are the world’s richest couples?
Who Are The World’s Richest Couples?
When it comes down to looking at the richest couples around the globe, you may realize that many of them don’t work in the same field (though some do). Both individuals in the relationship have their own hustle, respectively.
For instance, Oprah Winfrey and her long-time boyfriend Stedman Graham are worth a jaw-dropping $3.5 billion. Of course, much of that is Winfrey’s fortune from her time in the spotlight. However, Graham has a personal net worth of $10 million thanks to the work he has done as a writer and columnist.
That being said, it takes a lot of teamwork, understanding, and hustle to become one of the world’s richest couples (or even rich to begin with). So, without further ado, here are the top five richest couples in the world.
Was there ever in doubt in your mind you wouldn’t see this couple on the list? Bill Gates is still one of the wealthiest men in the world and his wife, Melinda, was a former general manager for Microsoft. Melinda herself has been named one of the most influential women in the world and, partnered with her hubby, the couple is unstoppable.
The couple gives a tremendous amount of their fortune to different charities and they run a nonprofit organization of their own. Despite donating much of their hard-earned money, the Gates’ continue to maintain an unbelievable amount of wealth.
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan ($74.2 Billion)
It is no mystery as to where Mark Zuckerberg earned his fortune: Facebook. While the bulk of the couple’s wealth does come from his work as founder and CEO, his wife Priscilla works as a pediatrician as well. Even though she doesn’t have to (she could easily stay at home), she continues to build their wealth by working on her own.
There is no doubt that both of them work extremely hard to be successful in their prospective fields. They have also adopted a lifestyle that allows them to maintain their wealth and continue that success. For instance, Zuckerberg has been quoted talking about his wardrobe and how having the same clothing for every day saves him time. Like many other billionaires, the power couple also starts their day out early.
Francois-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek ($7.1 Billion)
This couple has been married just over a decade but much of their wealth and success occurred before they got together. Francois-Henri Pinault is a businessman who had plenty to bring to the table in terms of riches, while Selma Hayek had made a name for herself as a beauty icon and actress. Thanks to their separate, but now joined, successes they have a sizable fortune.
Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller ($3.5 Billion)
Diane von Furstenberg is formerly known as Princess Diane of Furstenberg and owns one of the world’s largest fashion brands. Her husband, Barry Diller, created the Fox Broadcasting network and USA Broadcasting. They both bring their own wealth to the table when it comes to their combined $3.5 billion fortune.
The key for this couple is a bit more unconventional than others. They have been together on-and-off since the 1970s and even currently live in two different homes in Manhattan. This relationship method has undoubtedly worked for them though, so if it’s not broke…
Steven Spielberg is a household name for his work as a director in Hollywood. His wife has also been able to make a name for herself in the world of acting, making them one of the world’s richest couples. They first met on the scene of one of Spielberg’s biggest movies of all time: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Kate is now retired from acting but was active in the acting world up until 2002. Spielberg, on the other hand, is continuing to make movies (and money). The pair continues to be one of the most powerful couples in Hollywood.

Much of this couple’s wealth obviously stems from Oprah’s immense earnings from her work as a media icon. As mentioned above, Stedman also earns money of his own writing self-help books and works as a columnist for the Huffington Post.
7. Evan Spiegel and Miranda Kerr – $3.44 Billion
Miranda Kerr has earned plenty of cash on her own as a supermodel. However, much of the couple’s fortune stems from Spiegel’s work. He became the world’s youngest billionaire in 2015 with his technology-social media company Snap Inc.
8. Beyoncé and Jay-Z – $1.5 Billion
Beyonce and Jay-Z are practically what everyone thinks about when they think of “power couples.” Both have made an immense amount of wealth individually with their own singing and performance careers. They have even made music together, which has been a hit. All of this work together has led them to accrue a wealth of $1.5 billion.
9. Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana – $1.15 Billion
Just under Jay-Z and Queen Bee is Janet Jackson and her hubby Wissam Al Mana. Janet alone is worth $190 million. Combined with Al Mana’s $1 billion fortune he accrued as a businessman, the couple has a jaw-dropping net worth. They have has their problems though, separating on-and-off over the past nine years.
10. Holly Valance and Nick Candy – $1.12 Billion
Even though this celebrity couple’s wedding cost over $5 million, their net worth still sits above $1 billion. Holly, who got her start on Australian soap operas, has been able to stay active as an actress for more than 20 years. Her hubby, Nick, and his brother are extremely successful British property developers. Together, they definitely make up one of the world’s greatest power couples.
