2020 is the year of the breakout star! Netflix and other streaming services have been able to fund their own projects and, in many cases, pay actresses and actors more money. Performers that have been acting for years are now getting more time in the spotlight. Although she’s been acting for years, Laura Harrier’s net worth has significantly increased since she started working with Netflix. Here is how…
About Laura Harrier
Harrier was born in Chicago on March 28, 1990. She was raised outside the city and is the oldest sibling of two. By the age of 17, she began work as a model, which is how she got her start.
After high school graduation, Harrier moved to New York to study at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study. However, once she arrived in the city, she decided to put off enrolling in the school to focus on her modeling career. She modeled for magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Elle, Glamour, and Vogue. Brands like ALDO, American Eagle, L’Oreal, Steve Madden, and Urban Outfitters hired her to represent them as well.
Modeling felt unfulfilling to Harrier though and in 2013 she began studying acting at William Esper Studio. She studied there for two years while she already began to land gigs.
Harrier’s Career
Her very first acting job was on the web series reboot of the soap opera One Life to Live. There was only one season of the reboot, but it opened up the door for a lot more opportunities for Harrier. In 2014, she guest-starred in the television show Unforgettable. That same year, she made her film debut in The Last Five Years.
Harrier continued working relatively small roles until 2016 when she received the role of Liz in Spiderman: Homecoming. While she was waiting to see if she received the part, she went back to modeling for brands like Calvin Klein and Louis Vuitton. Upon the movie’s release, however, she started picking up even larger roles.
All of this led to her most recent project with Netflix where she plays Camille Washington in the miniseries Hollywood. Her performance in the series has received mixed reviews.
Laura Harrier’s Net Worth: Debatable
In more recent years, her career has been gaining momentum, but it hasn’t been enough for her to have an immense amount of wealth. Right now, Laura Harrier’s net worth is estimated by most sources to be around $500,000. Other sources have her net worth estimated to be around $5 million.
Considering most of her roles and the projects she’s worked on have been small, her actual net worth is likely closer to the former rather than the latter. The bulk of her wealth, no matter what it is, has stemmed from her most recent work as an actress. It is safe to assume much of her earnings from her early modeling days are gone. She is still landing deals with huge brands like Louis Vuitton though. Check out this video of her 2019 Spring-Summer haul…
