Kane Lim was born on December 5, 1989, in Singapore. He was born into a very wealthy Singaporean family whose money was made in real estate, oil and shipping. However, he has said in interviews that he was not pampered like the other wealthy kids around him, with his father making him take a public bus to school instead of paying for private chauffeurs. Not much more is known about his family as Lim is always careful to maintain his and his family’s privacy.
Lim began investing in stocks in 2006 when he was 17 using a loan from his father. According to him. He paid the loan back within two months and made his first million before his 20th birthday. He moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to attend school and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising with a B.A. in merchandise and marketing. Netflix has kept the reality show going for three seasons now.

He also reportedly runs an investment fund in LA and is a philanthropist contributing to various charities, including as Miracles For Kids and Uplift Services.
