Life is Getting in the Way

I’m exhausted. Like eyeballs burning out of my head tired. I haven’t had time to get anything done lately. I’m behind on e-mails, blogging and commenting all around which makes me sad.

I can’t totally blame it on kiddo, though last night was pretty awful. She’s still waking a few times throughout the night which stinks (she’s lucky she’s cute!). Her naps have been few, and short, which gives me basically zero time during the day to get stuff done. As much as I love hanging out with her, Momma misses those three hour newborn naps!

I’ve been busy with life. With birthdays, with sick cats, with hockey games, with cleaning and cooking, with looking for lost stuff, with being a mom and wife. I would love a morning to myself….a girl can dream.

We went to the bank yesterday and opened new accounts. Buhbye virtual banking and hello Chris, our new bank contact. It feels good to be able to put a name and face to our banking again. While I’m not a huge fan of paying for bank fees after eight months without paying them, I now understand their value. We also changed up our RESP (registered savings for kiddo’s education). Discussing mutual funds while as tired as I am was probably not the best idea, writing this I couldn’t even tell you what we finally settled on….(note to go check).

I don’t know what to do to finally get caught up on everything I need to do. I’m hopeful this weekend I’ll be able to come up with some sort of game plan. I crave organization. I haven’t even had much time to talk to my husband, but to my best knowledge we don’t have any concrete plans this weekend. Bliss. I need to go to my Weight Watchers meeting Saturday but that’s it. {{{{{Send me weight loss vibes!}}}}

Who’s celebrating this weekend?! I will not be celebrating St. Paddy’s Day. By the way, the only true Irishman I know, is embarrassed by North American St. Paddy’s Day traditions. Just this morning I saw an Irishman promoting Guiness by giving out shirts that say ‘Friends don’t let friends drink green beer’. Wicked.

I hope everyone has a great weekend whatever you do! I hope to come back Monday (WITH A HUGE SUPER EXCITING GIVEAWAY) organized, refreshed and skinnier!

m7684/////*****9999999999888888888887/ <<<< This is a message from my daughter wishing you all a fantastic weekend and reminding you to come back Monday for a giveaway 😉

In case you didn’t get that, there’s a giveaway Monday. Write it down. Giveaway Monday at Plunged in Debt!!

  3. Ok, that picture with the cat is sooooo funny!

Totally can relate to what you’re going through Catherine! As a momma to an almost 3 year old, I remember those days of not being able to get anything done and being frustrated. Hang in there 🙂 As your daughter gets a bit older, you’ll soon be able to get on a schedule and have some time to yourself.

    Have a great weekend!!!

I love me some kitty pictures! I never want to wish moments with her away and at 3am I remind myself she’ll only ever need me for a short time…I just wish my body would allow me to function perfectly enough to get everything done!

  4. I feel the same way. There are so many things on the TODO list. The kiddo didn’t take spring forward too well and we are still trying to adjust our biorhythm. Anyway, good luck with trying to get things done. I need to continue with the tax this weekend, how fun…

Do you have credit unions near you? I don’t pay any bank fees and the people at my bank are SOOO nice, I love them.

We do have a credit union but decided to deals exclusively at the bank that holds our mortgage and kiddos savings instead. Thanks Michelle 🙂

  6. Good Luck with getting all done that you need to do. Banks can be difficult to deal with. It probably is nice to have an actual person to deal with your banking instead of just a different teller each time you go into the bank. I have Chase, evil evil bank..but I have SO MUCH of my personal finance stuff in auto payment or online banking attached to it that I really don’t want to deal with the headache of starting all over again just to save a $10 fee each month. My employer does not have direct deposit, but I rarely go into the bank anymore because I use my phone to deposit checks and its great! I feel I save on gas and personal time as the trade off!

  7. I am tired as well. I am not home with my son all day, but with the lack of sleep at night, a full work schedule, and a blog to run, I am out of gas. Weeks like this just make me want to just sleep for a full day or two. Have a good weekend!

  8. Hope you can get some peace and make some progress this weekend, Catherine. I recently felt the same way and purged a whole lot of bunk from my daily schedule. I should do it more often as it felt deliciously fantastic. I’ll be celebrating, but it will be tonight and Saturday. Sunday is simply not a good day for me to get blitzed.

Haha there will be no getting blitzed for me unfortunately (breastfeeding) though I could do with a bottle glass of wine for sure. I really hope to get some things accomplished this weekend. Fingers crossed!

  9. Sounds like you could use a vacation 🙂 I have two daughter that are both under 2 years old. The are a handful to say the least. Don’t let the bank talk to you into any mutual funds. It’s a good idea to learn a little bit from the bank, but they’re trained to sell you things to make them money. A little bit of independent research for extremely low-cost index mutual funds is all you need!

OH MAN could I ever use a vacation! We’ve only been on one in the last four years, no joke. We ended up going with a Managed Portfolio, it’s for our daughters RESP (registered education savings) it’s a Canadian account type used to save for educational purposes for children.

  10. I can’t relate on the lack of sleep due to kids but it’s been rough for me as well trying to stay in the rhythm of blogging and commenting regularly. I am sure you will find a way to manage it all but don’t get too stressed out over it. Enjoy your downtime this weekend.

  13. I think you’re doing a fine job managing everything. Being home with a baby is never easy, not to mention with everything else you have going on. And hooray for real life banking! I think I said this in a previous comment, but I use both. I prefer my real life bank for day to day stuff. It’s easier and I like to go in to a branch and actually talk to a person from time to time.
