Kate Gosselin has recently made the news for renewing her nursing license in North Carolina and starting a more humble life after her television stardom. The reality star was once popular for her TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 that followed Kate, her husband Jon, and their eight children. However, the show eventually crumbled amid her divorce, nasty abuse rumors, and other issues with the family. Since then, she’s laid low for the most part. So, what is Kate Gosselin’s net worth today and how is she making money?

Who is Kate Gosselin?

Katie Irene Kreider was born on March 28, 1975, in Pennsylvania to Charlene and Kenton Kreider. Her father was a pastor and she was one of five children. Kate has three sisters and one brother. Following high school, she completed nursing school at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Afterward, she kickstarted her career as a labor and delivery nurse in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

In October 1997, she met Jon Gosselin and the pair tied the knot on June 12, 1999. The couple immediately started to try and have a baby. Due to polycystic ovary syndrome, Kate had to undergo fertility treatment. On October 8, 2000, she successfully gave birth to twin girls, Cara and Mady. Kate continued fertility treatments to get pregnant again. Then, on May 10, 2004, she gave birth to sextuplets (that’s six kids at once). Sons Aaden Jonathan, Collin Thomas, and Joel Kevin; and daughters Alexis Faith, Hannah Joy, and Leah Hope were 10 weeks early. They had to be placed on ventilators for some time after they were born.

Breaking Into Reality TV

Kate and Jon Gosselin first appeared on reality television after the birth of their sextuplets. They were on NBC’s Home Delivery, which followed the renovations they were making to their Pennsylvania home to accommodate their much larger family. Then, the family was seen on Discovery Health’s Surviving Sextuplets and Twins in 2005, which included a follow-up episode one year later.

Discovery Health decided to pick the family up for an ongoing series called Jon & Kate Plus 8. It aired on Discovery Health for two seasons before moving to TLC where it ran for five seasons. Then, in 2009, TLC announced that the show’s name would be changed to just Kate Plus 8. Jon and Kate were getting divorced and the show would now just follow Kate’s journey as a single mom of eight children. The program went on for another six seasons.

Following the success of her reality shows, many doors opened for Kate. She appeared on Season 10 of Dancing With The Stars and made it to week 5. The reality star was also announced to be a returning co-host on The View, though that didn’t last long. In 2013, her family appeared on an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap where she swapped places with Kendra Wilkinson.

Eventually, TLC announced a reunion special of Kate Plus 8 and, in 2015, it was announced that the show would be returning to the network. However, its return was short-lived and was canceled again after a season (plus three episodes of a second season).

Kate attempted a spin-off called Kate Plus Date that followed her dating life after divorce. It was kind of a flop. She also appeared on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, but she was eliminated during the first episode due to an injury.

What has all this screen time done for Kate Gosselin’s net worth? And how is she making money today?

Kate Gosselin’s Net Worth

At the time of writing this, Kate Gosselin’s net worth is estimated to be about $500,000. It was reported that she earned around $250,000 per episode of the TLC show. Considering how many seasons it aired, you might be surprised to hear that she isn’t worth more money. It’s important to remember that she’s been taking care of several children. Collin and Hannah chose to live with Jon following the divorce, but the rest of the children resided with Kate, placing much of the financial burden on her.

The TLC show wasn’t the only thing earning her money though. As mentioned above, she appeared on Dancing With The Stars. She made around $160,000 for her time on the competition show. Additionally, she made a few thousand dollars every time she appeared on The View. Not to mention, her TLC spin-offs.

During the peak of her popularity, Kate also published three books. The first, Multiple Blessings, was published in November 2008 and it sold around half a million copies in the first year. Her second book, Eight Little Faces, was released in April 2009, and her third, I Just Want You To Know, was released on April 13, 2010. Each one appeared on the New York Times Bestsellers List.

Unlike many other reality stars, Kate doesn’t use her social media to earn any extra money. In fact, she doesn’t post online all that often. Die-hard fans look forward to the occasional updates about the kids.

Now, she has gotten her nursing license reinstated in North Carolina (moved over from PA). Apparently, she’s working as a nurse in the Southern state. It’s not clear if she returned to L&D nursing or not. The average salary for a nurse in NC is $72,220 per year, or $34.72 per hour, but she could be making more (or less), depending on her location and specialty. She reportedly lives in a $750,000 lakefront home in NC though, so she’s doing well for herself.

As the latest season of Sister Wives aired, viewers have gotten a look into the Brown family finances. It was interesting to see how everything was separated. Now, Kody Brown, who once had four wives, is down to just one. He and Robyn Brown are continuing to live as husband and wife without any other women in the picture. However, some fans have been wondering what Robyn and Kody Brown’s net worth is after the separations. Here is everything we know.

How Kody Brown Gained Fame

Kody Brown was born on January 17, 1969, in Lovell, Wyoming. He was raised in a Mormon home with his parents, Genielle and William Brown. Later in life, his dad wound up adopting a polygamist lifestyle and had three wives of his own.

Kody rose to fame when TLC approached him about doing a show. The network had interest in Kody and his family because they were polygamists. It made its debut on the small screen in 2010. At the time, he was married to three women: Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown.

The show followed the family’s unconventional way of living. Eventually, Kody began to seek out a fourth wife and the show documented the courting and then wedding between Kody and Robyn.

In addition to his four wives, Kody fathered 18 children. The family is massive and they were all living in harmony, for a while anyway. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family started to fall apart. Some of Kody’s children butted heads with him about his new COVID rules for the house and then his wives slowly started getting tired of his crap too.

One by one, they left Kody and took their children. Christine Brown left first. Then Janelle. Then Meri. Now, he and Robyn are the only two left. But what is Robyn and Kody Brown’s net worth today?

What is Robyn and Kody Brown’s Net Worth?

Meri legally divorced Kody so that he could marry Robyn and adopt her children from her previous marriage. So, the couple is legally married, which combines some of their finances, including their overall net worth. When it comes to Robyn and Kody Brown’s net worth, there are several estimates online. Many people state that Kody is worth $800,000 and Robyn is worth $600,000. Combined, that would mean that they are worth $1.4 million.

Both of them have made a majority of their money on Sister Wives. The main cast members are paid $40,000 per episode. So far, there have been 73 episodes of the TLC show and more are going to be released soon. Outside of that, Kody keeps a relatively low profile. He doesn’t share much, if anything, on social media. So, there aren’t a ton of opportunities for him to make money there.

Like many other reality TV stars, he is also active on Cameo. He charges fans for personalized videos. According to his page, he charges $149+ for a message. He gets requests to wish people a happy birthday and other similar clips.

It’s looking like Sister Wives is coming to an end. Season 19 has been the longest one yet and the family seems to be all going in different directions. So, it’s not clear what the future of Robyn and Kody Brown’s net worth will be.

Last year, Alana Thompson made the news when she confronted her mother, June Shannon, about stealing money from her. Alana, better known as “Honey Boo Boo,” was owed money that her mom took out of an account that was supposed to be protected. Following that revelation, many people have been wondering, what is Honey Boo Boo’s net worth? And how much money did Mama June steal? Here’s what you need to know.

Alana Thompson’s Career

Alana Thompson was born on born on August 28, 2005. She is the daughter of “Mama June” Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson. When Alana was young, she performed in various beauty pageants. Eventually, she earned some screentime on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras. She became a favorite on the show, which led to her landing a program of her own.

TLC picked her up and launched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. It aired on August 8, 2012. However, it only aired for two seasons before being canceled. It was taken off the air due to her mother’s association with a known sex offender. The family didn’t stay off the small screen for long though.

In February of 2017, they were featured on an all-new reality TV show called Mama June: From Not To Hot. The show is still airing today on weTV and has had specials, like the last season Mama June: Family Crisis.

Outside of appearing on reality TV with her family, Alana Thompson has also appeared on various talk shows for interviews. She was also featured as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars and The Masked Singer.

Much of her life has been in the spotlight, but you may actually be surprised to find out Honey Boo Boo’s net worth.

What is Honey Boo Boo’s Net Worth?

In 2025, it is estimated that Honey Boo Boo’s net worth is about $100,000. When you consider the fact that she’s spent more than a decade of her life on television, this figure seems low. It’s important to keep in mind that Alana was a minor for much of the time she was on TV. So, her mother claimed the earnings from the show until she turned 18 unless filming took place in California.

California has a law that stipulates that 15% of any earnings a child star makes has to be put into a trust for the child. It is called the Coogan Act. Unfortunately, only a couple of Alana’s appearances were filmed in California (Dancing With The Stars). That means her mom didn’t have to set aside a dime for Alana when it was all said and done.

June Shannon struggled with addiction for a long time, which is something that was discussed on the show. It is believed that she likely spent a lot of Alana’s money on drugs. In the latest season of Family Crisis, she revealed that there was nothing left in Alana’s Coogan account either, which means she stole money from her. What makes that unfortunate is that Alana likely made quite a bit of money from that appearance. Contestants on DWTS make $125,000 for rehearsals and the first two weeks of the competition. Earnings increase for every week you last. She made it to week four. If her mom followed the 15% law, that means she likely had $40,000 stolen out from underneath her. Not to mention, all of the money her mom got when she was a minor.

That said, Alana Thompson is now attending college and studying to become a nurse. She also still appears on Mama June: From Not To Hot on a regular basis. Now that she’s of age, all of that money goes directly to her. So, it is possible that Honey Boo Boo’s net worth will increase in the years to come.
